Jenny Pitt

Black Deer Media Director Jenny Pitt is a media and communications specialist, with over 10 years' experience in magazine publishing and the non-profit sector. Jenny started her career working for technology magazines in London's Soho, before landing top editorial jobs on popular titles such as BBC Good Food, Good Housekeeping and Woman & Home.

 

Jenny has contributed articles and provided editorial services to lifestyle magazines such as Healthy and InStyle. She has also blogged about health & wellbeing issues - her recent article about hair loss appeared in Elle UK. Clients include Nuffield Health, BackCare, the World Alliance of YMCAs and Reside Housing Association.

Operational and strategic public relations experience was built up in the charity sector, with charities such as Healthwatch, Mencap and YMCA.

Commissioned to project manage a Royal Visit to YMCA South Ealing in April 2019, Jenny worked closely with the Royal Household to prepare YMCA staff and young hostel residents to meet the Duke of Sussex.

Jenny was the PR & Comms Officer for YMCA175, a global youth summit at London's ExCel Centre in 2019. Over 3,000 young people from 100 countries around the world gathered to celebrate 175 years of YMCA and youth empowerment.

 

Jenny provided communications services for the World Alliance of YMCAs on two global online campaigns in 2020: Youth Resilience and Unlearning Racism. Her comments on educational policy recently appeared in The Telegraph.

Jenny's latest client, Reside Housing, is a housing association for people with complex support needs.
